“Astronomy compels the soul to look upwards and leads us from this world to another.” – Plato
Cyberspace
The 21st century lightning speed of China’s emerging power is all but relative. Physical space of Tzu’s Art of War was sketched into the cyberspace domain by China where it sits at the hierarchy of all others. China cyphers past the speed of light with 5G………..
Success of Russia’s Campaign of 1812 continues as Russian War Horses charge the WWW with their strategic use of Matryoshka Complex and Uslovnyi.
Twists of fate and irony have sat Russia and China in command and control positions. One has superseded the U.S. harnessing high hypersonic speed. The other stands to profit by funding U.S. Defense to build the new F-35 “supercomputers.” Irony is both Russia and China’s command of cyberspace is par excellence rivaled only by Israel and Iran, long-time adversaries.
Isaac Ben Israel, retired IDF Major General, referred to as “the father of Israel’s cybersecurity business” literally wrote the book, “Cybersecurity in Israel.”
Emperors, Czars, and Masterminds’ forces reign. Era of the Masters of the “Digital Caliphate” transcends the Era of the Prophets.
Space
“Earth is the cradle of humanity, but one cannot remain in the cradle forever.” – Konstantin E. Tsiolkovsky
Moscow, city of Kaluga (150 kilometers), reveals the Konstantin E. Tsiolkovsky State Museum of the History of Cosmonautics.
Looking through the “looking glass,” we find the mirror image slightly changed. The expression may be seen with the same smirk, except now the beauty of the art of the beholder lies in both eyes: Space and Cyberspace.
SpaceTime and c velocity has been good to Russia as it has advanced from supersonic interceptors to hypersonic aircraft and weapons. “На боевое дежурство заступил первый полк с “Авангардами”
Russia’s cultivation from the U.S.S.R. came at the expense of its economy. True to form, as with China, U.S. actions and inactions took part in nurturing the motherland. Examining an array of documents, designs, aerial and arsenal images, we obtain a glimpse of the “Soviet Military Power” through “The Pentagon’s Propaganda document” leading up to the 1980s and 90s, specifically “Strategic Defense and Space Operations.”
Speeding ahead to the 21st century, on U.S. Space Policy & Commerce, “Our adversaries are using 3 or 4 year timelines…as we were able to do” reports Mike Griffin, Defense Under Secretary for Research & Engineering.
Griffin clearly assessed the robustness and resilience of China and Russia in their deployments. The Defense Under Secretary pointed to the U.S. need for a “development of surveillance and tracking…that can see …hypersonic…”
As countermeasures, Griffin points to surveillance, persistency, and timely global response acknowledging “their speed is so great that you have to spot it far away…see it coming …using radars position defense…”
Israel has moved past the moon’s orbit as their strengths are in strategic innovations and advanced technologies in cyberspace and airspace. High-Altitude, Long-Endurance Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (HAE UAV) and Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) for surveillance, intelligence gathering, and target acquisition.
Isaac Ben Israel reminds us that “Balance is usually based on experience. You cannot copy a model when you are inventing a system.”
Earthspace
power lines → cable lines → broadband → Wi-Fi → towers → ∞ increments of high-speed ❽networks
On earth, humans invented multiple means of mass transportation: railroad and water vessel. In time, the plane took flight in the air. The passage of time soon took man to space with its engineering of a vessel that would skyrocket outside of earth’s space past the stars, landing on the moon.
In time, an international space station was built, ISS. This newly formed vantage point facilitated satellites by which earthlings could power their communications on the land, water, and air space.
Air Space
U.S. has capitalized on Ernst Mach’s name adopting it for defense and business (aircraft, motor vehicle model names, etc.). U.S. also capitalized on the work of Albert Einstein and J. Robert Oppenheimer. Still, the U.S. did not name the bombs they detonated on Hiroshima and Nagasaki the Einstein bomb or the Oppenheimer bomb.
China capitalized on U.S. incessant building of “war machines” becoming its Creditor. Stealth Bombers and Fighter Jets are the trademark of U.S. military aircraft. Security Analysts forecasts of Lockheed Martin building 4,000 F-35 in 50 years points to Defense concern of the advancements of Russia adding to the U.S. current billions of debt to China will reach trillions.
Vulnerability of the F-35 or “flying supercomputer” is in its high-tech computing strength-it can be shut down. Key for adversaries is to find its “Achilles’ heel,” gain access to the code and lock it down. Time will tell if Lockheed Martin’s “supercomputer” is impregnatable.
Structures towering above ground are measured in miles reaching air space. Soldiers on foot, Navy fighters, or cyber warriors need to heed three lessons:
“A machine can hunt, but it cannot think.”
Key lies in the power of your radars, as the documented “speed trap” deadly midair collision between an F-4 Phantom and commercial airline exhibit. The decades’ old incident serves to corroborate lessons learned from former U.S. Navy fighter pilot Dan Pedersen.
Pedersen, first officer in charge and co-founder of the U.S. Navy Fighter Weapons School understands the first lesson, “In combat, what you don’t see will kill you” and “The Pilot will always be the key factor.” Combat or not, a pilot’s eyes and early detection are critical.
U.S. General John Allen (Retired) “Have real-time plan strategically in a military manner…that kind of connectivity knows no boundaries.”
Ocean
Ocean waters are not hindered by the restrictions of land. Distance may be measured between two points •↔• on the map. Navigation and knot speed is manned by the captain or admiral and powered by the engineered vessel. All are presided by the winds empowering the waves ≈
Remnants of the Cold War appear to have been seeded and sown. Some remain buried and others exposed to the elements as the earth’s climate changes. Reports of Top-Secret US Military Bases worldwide and abandoned “nuclear weapon beneath the ice in northern Greenland following a crash in 1968” have emerged.
Soviet Union early expeditions of the 19th Century came across the polar deserts of Antarctica after commanding the Arctic Seas to be followed by its 20th Century engineering feats in space only to be topped by Russia’s understanding and command of high-hypersonic velocity from Mach 10.0 to Mach 25.0 + .
North Atlantic drew witness and washed ashore soldiers in Europe from American vessels in past World Wars. Mediterranean Sea and the Persian Gulf have in present times bore witness to Wars masked as conflicts.
Few command sea, air and land as the United States Navy SEALs. “Admiral William H. McRaven (U.S. Navy Retired) served with great distinction in the Navy. In his thirty-seven years as a Navy SEAL, he commanded at every level. As a Four-Star Admiral, his final assignment was as Commander of all U.S. Special Operations Forces.”
Admiral McRaven, author of the book Sea Stories, “a remarkable memoir from one of America’s most accomplished leaders.”
Deep Sea
Stealth acceleration many fathoms deep is gained at the sub level of submarines. On the ground we look up to space. In the sea, our gaze searches deep below as manifestations of the past are now discovered. In this deep space, the humans are but the extraterrestrials gazing upon the infinite number of creatures in the sea.
Land
Russia leads →Nuclear Power & Possession Hierarchy: Russia, USA, France, China, UK, Pakistan, India, Israel, and DPRK
Japan builds on power and precision. China builds on strength and sustainability. China’s policies are clear as President Xi Jinping asserts, “to build a solid national defense and a strong military commensurate with China’s international standing and consistent with its security and development interests…we’ll never allow any of our sacred territory not even an inch to be separated from the motherland.”
India’s mantra continues to proceed with patience and caution. To best understand its Defense and Operation, one needs to become well versed in the “Seven Stans”: Pakistan, Afghanistan Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan.
The “5 Eyes” surveillance capability continues to be extended from 5, 5+3, 9, 14, XX, including collaborators. The “5 Stans” (Pakistan, Afghanistan Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan) are in an ideal location to report aerial and ground surveillance of India, Iran, Russia, China and key players in its parameters, Korea and Japan.
5G and goal specific missions require specialized technological advances of the “5 Eyes” lacking in France, Germany, and Poland as reported by U.S. representative Mike Rogers.
Paradoxical key observation: Observed Targets are China, Russia, and Iran. Strategy of trading with one, space engagement with the second, and positioning dictators in the third has facilitated surveillance and control of people.
U.S. recognized the geostrategic importance of both Afghanistan and Pakistan in its military operations in the Middle East. It is not coincidental these two countries, including Turkmenistan, border the Islamic Republic of Iran. The “Stans” also provide a buffer zone between India and Iran.
Two marine combatants understand first-hand these operations.
James N. Mattis, General and Former Secretary of Defense, “Every warrior must know his weapon, his job, and his comrades’ reactions so well that he functions without hesitation.”
Francis J. “Bing” West, Marine combat veteran and former Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Affairs, “The United States possessed precision firepower, with sensors that tracked any individual out of doors.” Indeed, precision brutal death is not the result of soldier’s conflicting words but that of nation’s arsenal and leaders’ decisive actions.
State of Israel is not located in a militarily favorable geographic position as nations in the Americas sitting between two oceans. Strikingly crucial factor as its defense policies in the Middle East are governed primarily by its ally in the Americas.
Israel’s elite military arises from “Founding Fathers” to the future Israel Defense Forces (IDF). Geographically, Israel appears as “little David” surrounded by large Goliaths. Size does not always matter if one finds the Achilles heel of the enemy.
In time, “little David” gave rise to a powerful force. Still Israel is wise to remember that “Having an army does not make you a Goliath, it only keeps you safe.”
Isaac Ben Israel, retired IDF Major General, understands ground attack and flexibility, “When people are shooting at you, it changes you for life. You learn that you don’t stick strictly to what you were told to do.”
James N. Mattis, General and Former Secretary of Defense, shares in his book, “Call Sign Chaos” that “Leaders are expected to stay attuned to their higher headquarters’ requirements. In the military, we exist to be prepared.” General, from the chaos in physical space to cyberspace the preemptive signs of the “butterfly effect” can be sensed.
Indeed, a great deal can be learned from the Generals.
Gentlemen, you will permit me to say that as the horizon appears to stay in place, no matter the speed we accelerate our pace it may be wise to know when to change our direction and when to push forward. Our imagination creates endless possibilities. Let’s push to discover how infinite our universe is!
“Once we accept our limits, we go beyond them.” ― Albert Einstein
