Operation Snowman: Scouts Tracking Informant

Buzzzzzzz…Bzzzzzzzzz… Look up! Swarm of fliers approaching are lit up in a familiar “V” image. What’s their mission? Hunt high & low ↨ Joint operation targeting Informant Shooting the Messengers → Snow Job of “Bastard Patriotism.”
Playing with my cousins, they hooked me onto the “air force” fighter race of June bugs when we were kids. Naturally, I named my bugs which included beetles, fireflies and dragonflies.
Grandpapa, did you see, Charlie just winged Firouz clear into the bird dish! Lookout Charlie, Yufei is ready to sideline you. Oh, Gideon’s launch is aimed at Firouz. But Firouz makes a bold move upward from the dishwater, forward then backward. No, he takes a deep plunge and in a clever misdirect shoots sideways again and finally upwards scathing under Gideon. Sofia stands ready to fire upon Charlie.
“It’s late, time to come in “jet fighter” said Grandpapa. Oh, just a little longer I said. Grandpapa responded, “You’ve been at this for hours. Worn out, your bugs won’t be fit for flight tomorrow.”
But it’s June, I said. There will be plenty of fresh bug recruits buzzing around for several months. He insisted, “Sorry, Commander but it’s time for you to land in bed.”
The next morning, racing out of bed, I was so excited I almost flew past him in the hall.
Grandpapa, I’m thinking of sending Sofia along with DrakenX on a mission. “Oh, and what’s the mission for?” To send and pickup information. Sofia, firefly, is set for transmittal. DrakenX, dragonfly, will collect data.
Knowing of my vivid imagination, Grandpapa played along saying with a serious look. “And have you programed Sofia and DrakenX to fly on these missions?” Not yet, I said.
Grandpapa became more curious, “How are you going to assess if your Scouts hit the right targets? Or, if the Intel is credible?” Easy I said. I’ve been working on a special facial recognition system (FRS) to mount onto DrakenX alongside a remote mini camera and audio device which will be transmitting imagery live.
“And what is this?” Grandpa asked. It’s a miniature instrument to disable Sofia’s photic charge. You see, her natural instinct is to engage in signaling patterns attracting males. On this mission she won’t be mating. I’m equipping her for transmission. Not a “manhunt.” Another reason why Sofia’s “brother” was ill equipped for the task.
If captured, Sofia has been equipped with a cryptic code and detonator to self-implode on my command controlled remotely. I reminded my Grandpapa of the story he shared with me of messenger pigeons. Yes, he noted, reminding me of the infamous “stool pigeon.”
“What are the provisions for DrakenX to elude capture?” Grandpapa asked.
Oh that’s easy, “Never let them see you coming.” Adversaries, or competing forces, with their prismatic exterior stick out and will announce themselves to DrakenX seeing them glitter from over 12 kilometers away. You, see dragonflies have “multiple eyes.” And so I’ve enhanced its visual receptors to receive that single shot image faster.
Also, not only did I adjust the speed of its motion camouflage, but I’ve applied a coating which enhances its color changes perfect for camouflaging amidst its surroundings.
“Looks like you’ve put a lot time and work on a single scout.” Yes, but see Grandpapa, I’ve also created a back-up prototype. Yet, with one major difference. It’s equipped with a mini firing weapon. Its sole mission is to seek and destroy. But unlike its counterpart, DrakenX, the prototype will be polished with a shiny coating that attracts other dragonflies making them easy targets for DrakenX.
As dragonflies have a short lifespan, the key is to rapidly build life size versions especially when speed is critical. Improving on a maximum of 60 kph means doubling it to 120 kph or tripling it to 180 kph.
Grandpapa continued to play along asking, “As to DrakenX, is data you seek in demand?”
I responded, as long as there’s a supply of data, there will be a demand to access it. This turns the “supply and demand” economic term on its head wherein demand heads supply. And as key supplier, I’ve got the right bug for “Operation Snowman.”
“And if Sofia or DrakenX are captured ‘red handed’ by enemy forces?” asked Grandpapa. I’m sure they’ll attempt using their satellites for Informant Shooting the Messengers: Snow Job of “Bastard Patriotism.” However, unlike their bugs, Sofia and DrakenX are not equipped with a recognizable GPS.
“You give a new meaning to making an “Informed” decision for your buyers,” said Grandpapa. Yes, I find there is a fine line between INFORMER and “Big Brother.”
Grandpapa questioned, “Closer than the distance between border of Ireland and its Northern brother?”
I replied, closer.
He continued, “Closer than the crossing between Mother Russia and her Sister, Ukraine?”
Closer.
“Closer than the distance between borders of Israel and Syria or Iraq and Iran?”
Closer.
Today, Grandpapa is not here to ask me questions. T’s I who questions.
Alas, reminded I am of a treasured book his Grandpapa passed onto him, He to Papa and now rests with Me.
Treat yourself to a precious find. Vital in learning Farsi I too find the Masnavi colorfully illustrated by the Persian poet Rumi.
Find you will Parrots in Book I. Look further. Perhaps what you seek are “The Spiritual Birds that are Divine Intelligences.”
Permit me to suggest the practice of duo sentence pattern.
Permit me to suggest what you seek is in Book V, “Parable of the Parrot which is taught to speak by seeing its image in a mirror.”
Parrot, my new found friend
Permission granted to respond
“Mirror, mirror on the wall” who is my true friend after all?
Adversaries, repeatedly one finds you speak of surveillance. Considered a ‘walkie-talkie’ bird? Say a talking parrot?
What of these “big brothers,” Israel and the US, use of “Commando Bugs?” Their entire surveillance projects depend on ELECTRONICS.
Gives a new meaning to “a fly on the wall.” The use of spies goes back centuries to Machiavelli and Sun Tzu. Technology has served to transfer this strategy from humans onto electronics leveraging A.I.
But why stop with birds and bugs? Though airborne may seem the most practical and efficient method, why not also implant devices on animals which are prevalent in the areas you wish to collect Intel from? Researchers have already implemented this in the Animal Kingdom across the globe. Want to “get your man.” Well, who is man’s best friend?
Since everyone naturally has been looking to the skies since 9/11 and recent aircraft tragedies, land and sea are being overlooked (or are they?). RFID’s implanted in humans or animals for id purposes can be manipulated to serve as “bugs.” Also, items brought into the home. These ideas only touch the surface of what has been accomplished and possible.
My cousins alerted me as to unmanned systems and espionage devices. Key is to think small, nano nano. “Electronics and optics have reached such an ultra-advanced stage, that we can manufacture devices of practically any size.”
Snowman cometh……………
Understand why China covets Taiwan? And US protects their new found little brother?
Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) and Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), 😉
Peekaboo, I see you!
China, as my Papa would say, “Know when to capture and when to cut the tree where these birds nest.”
